Prema –Bhakti : Ramcharit manas by Tulsi Das , Aranya Kanda

Sage Agastha had a very devoted disciple ,His name was Sutik’sna . He’s well Versed in the Vedas and a devotee of Sri Rama ,within his heart  or even in his dreams ,there’s no place for any other divinity ,rather than Rama.

When, Sri Ram along with Sri Laxman and Mata Sita in their exile visited Agasthya Muni, Ecstasy embraced Sutikshan; He’s all overwhelmed ! But , same time ,this great devotee had humble attitude – he thought , “ I have no Bairagya (dispassion),devotion and wisdom ;Yet Lord Ram is so merciful ‘’. He had no sense of the  outer world ,he achieved ‘Prema Bhakti’ in reality .Rama appeared as His Chaturbuji Murti within Sutikshan’s Chitta ,the saint turned senseless. That’s the stage of  ecstasy . But ,then for Leela , Sri Ram disappered from his within and  as Dvibhuj (two-handed form ) Muni vesh Rama waked him up .Seeing Sri Ram in front of him, Sutiksna muni cried the loving tears and prostrated to Sita ,Ram and Laxmana. Other than Rama’s lotus feet ,he had no other desire ! Sri Ram hugged Sutiksan and went to Agasthya's Ashrama.

Sutikshan then, worshiped the Lord by singing Lord’s glory and defining his own humbleness (as Sutikshan called himself as fool, unintelligent so on ).He also sang the glory of Rama as sagun, nirgun,Samrup and Visam (these are Vedantic aspect, That means he was not that fool ,he was well versed ; it was just his humble nature of saranagati). Then ,he prayed that he want the love for Sagun Rama only .Rama grant him boons of Bairagya and Wisdom , but he then asked only the love or Prema bhakti .The place of Bhakti is greater even than Gyana .

Agastya Muni too worshiped Sri Ram . After that Prabhu Ram migrated to the Panchavatii , there Jatayu and other devotees worshiped Lord Ram,Devi Sita and Lord Lakshmana.   Once, Lakhsman Ji asked Rama  about the greatness of Bhakti ,Dharma ,concept of maya etc . After explaining all dharma etc , Rama finally explained the path of  Bhakti  as the greatest as well as an independent path. beginning with Sravana ,all nine fold bhakti is the way to the Lotus Feet of Lord Ram . The bhava  for these Nine-folds of  bhakti are that of Guru bhakti, parental attitude etc . It’s also explained that ,from Karma arrises Bairagya and from Bairagya utimately bhakti. Who achieved the Prema ashru in Bhajana ,for him ,the Lord is in his control and sant seva (service to the saints) is also a part of Hari Bhakti . thus,  Niskam (self-less) Bhakti is the  greastest way   ; with these explanation , Rama pleased Laxamana .

Jai Sita Ram. Jai Tulsidas . ShriKrisnarpanahmastu

nirapekṣaṁ muniṁ śāntaṁ nirvairaṁ sama-darśanam anuvrajāmy ahaṁ nityaṁ pūyeyety aṅghri-reṇubhiḥ  - Srimad Bhagavata 11.14.16 (Meaning : With the dust of My devotees’ lotus feet I desire to purify the material worlds, which are situated within Me. Thus, I always follow the footsteps of My pure devotees, who are free from all personal desire, rapt in thought of My pastimes, peaceful, without any feelings of enmity, and of equal disposition everywhere.)      Tirth or pilgrimage in Vedic Tradition is the journey to holy places where knowledge, devotion and association of Saints is easily accessible. But unlike normal human beings ,a Sage visits holy places just to purify the material desires of others.Jagnnath Puri is one of the Holiest sites of Vaishnavism. This temple is associated with pastimes of many great personalities.Srimanta Sankardeva Visited Purusttama khestra twice,First somewhere near 1481 AD and later in 1550 AD.Whereas,Dinanath bezbarua wrote that the Mahapu...

Annihilation Of Tartuffe : The ‘Pasanda Mardan’ Of Sankardeva

Annihilation Of Tartuffe : The ‘Pasanda Mardan’ Of Sankardeva The stumbling block to faith can be overcome only by the mercy of saintly beings; the loving devotion is the greatest grail in the Vaishnava philosophy. As it’s observed that in different eras, in many places, the transcendental lovers were afflicted by many, generally by the ruling class & by those blindly attached to black Rituals. But the great saints, overcoming all the hindrances, not only uplift the meek & weak but also left inspiration for people of all ages. So, It’s the late fifteen Century; As a part of the Bhakti revolution, Srimanta Sankardeva started the Vaishnava movement in North-Eastern India. His faith & movement have opened the door of spirituality for all classes of people in Assam. This Polymath Guru preached Krishna Bhakti & Bhagavata to even the so-called untouchables, it res...

The Golden Incarnation

Grail of human anticipation is to save oneself from suffering . Everyone has some desire ,so that their every work circulating around the bonds of Ahamkara, which means I , Me & Mine . This selfishness has different degrees , the extreme of this ego is always destructive . The Man made society has different behavior towards different people ; He is this, or She is that- these kinds of judgement result in the imbalance of Man’s Spiritual Nature . Acceptance of any being as it is , is a rare phenomenon . 'Jesus Christ accepted Magdalene' or 'Sri Rama accepted Sabari' indicates the value of acceptance as well as the fraternity of living creatures .     It's the medieval India, Various Great Souls such as Ramanujacharya, Vallabha,Ramananda, Srimanta Sankardeva, Guru Nanak and many more challenged the social discrimination . After the disappearance of Siddhartha Buddha, the society recreated various supremacy based on caste ,appearance and all. Hence , the spirit...
